Abu Galawa Kebir

Fury Shoals, Red Sea, Egypt

A large reef in the Fury Shoals system of southern Egypt, south of Marsa Alam. Contains the wreck of the Tienstin, a small early-20th-century tugboat (sunk circa 1943) resting at 18 m on the north side of the reef. Coral garden surrounds the wreck at 5-20 m. Observed species include schooling barracuda, napoleon wrasse, reef fish, and dense hard coral cover. Suitable for Open Water divers.
