Each coral patch supports different dominant species depending on its position and current exposure. The sandy channels between patches are hunting grounds for blue-spotted ribbontail rays and broadclub cuttlefish. Mantis shrimp burrows dot the channel edges. The varied topography creates natural swim-through paths and interesting navigation choices.
