Blue Cave (Cape Maeda)

A shore-access sea cave at Cape Maeda on the west coast of Okinawa Main Island, Japan. Cave entrance at approximately 1-2 m depth requires swimming in from the shore. Interior chamber glows deep blue in afternoon sunlight as light reflects off the white sand floor. Max depth 30 m on outer reef outside the cave. Observed species include yellowfin goatfish, schooling moorish idols, lionfish, clownfish, moray eels. Suitable for Open Water divers and snorkelers.
