Boulder Bank

Nelson, South Island

A thirteen-kilometre natural formation of rounded granite boulders extends from Mackay Bluff into Nelson Haven. Diving the outer face reveals a steep slope of boulders descending to sand at around fifteen metres. Blue cod occupy crevices in the formation while scarlet wrasse and Hector's dolphin move through open water.
