Cabbage Patch
West Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands
Cabbage Patch takes its name from the dominant coral species here: large Turbinaria and Montipora colonies whose overlapping plates resemble dense heads of cabbage extending across the reef slope. Napoleon wrasse wedge into coral gaps, reef manta ray pick through rubble zones, and Clark's anemonefish command the open water above.
