Cape Schanck West
Cape Schanck, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia
An exposed back-beach shore dive on the Bass Strait side of Cape Schanck, reached by a long walk and gear carry down to the water near Pulpit Rock. The route runs around the cape through a channel past basalt gullies and sea caves, including an arch and a shark cave. It holds Port Jackson sharks, kelp gardens, sponges, and sea tulips, and is only safe in very calm, low-swell conditions, so it suits experienced divers.
