Eastern blue gropers are territorial residents, and spotted wobbegongs rest on the wreck's flatter sections. Sponges and encrusting organisms cover the surviving timbers and any exposed hardware, creating pockets of colour against the pale sand. Territorial yellowtail kingfish guard patches of reef, giant cuttlefish scour the hard surfaces, and Port Jackson shark cruise overhead.
