The surrounding sand attracts blue-spotted ribbontail rays, spotted garden eels, and hunting broadclub cuttlefish. Mimic octopus, blue-ringed octopus, and flamboyant cuttlefish thrive in these conditions. The reef's isolation means resident fish populations are dense, with large schools of anthias, damselfish, and chromis packed around the coral heads.
