Healthy coral gardens flourish in the protected waters of this Torres Strait inlet, where massive Maori wrasse patrol alongside schools of giant trevally. The reef's eastern exposure creates excellent coral growth conditions, supporting vibrant hard coral formations and diverse fish communities typical of the northern Great Barrier Reef ecosystem.
