El Condesito

A 40-m cargo ship that ran aground and sank on 27 September 1973 near Las Galletas on the south coast of Tenerife, Canary Islands. Was carrying cement bags for the construction of Los Cristianos; the cement has since solidified in the holds. Lies at 6-21 m in a narrow canyon between rock walls. Observed species include trumpetfish, octopus, cuttlefish, barracuda, and resident reef fish. Suitable for Open Water divers.
