Ribbon Reef #10, Queensland, Australia

An isolated coral pinnacle in deep water near Ribbon Reef #10 of the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland. Rises from 30 m at the base to 5 m at the peak. Attracts schooling pelagic fish and, in June-July, becomes a regular encounter site for dwarf minke whales (Balaenoptera acutorostrata subsp.). Observed species include trevally, barracuda, fusiliers, Napoleon wrasse, reef sharks, seasonal minke whales. Advanced Open Water recommended.
