Muck

Magic Rock lies at the southern point of the Teluk Kembahu (TK) bay on the mainland side of the Lembeh Strait. It was once a single bommie packed with critters. Warm water during an El Niño year killed that coral. It has not come back. Today a hard-coral garden runs from the shore to about 10 m. A sand plain then slopes to a wall that starts near 21 m and continues well below recreational depth. A rock at about 15 m works as a cleaning station. Waspfish and frogfish live on the sand. Wunderpus turn up from time to time. The point is sheltered from south-east winds from June to September. It catches swell in the rainy season from November to April.
