Mao Reef

Al Bahr Al Ahmar, Sudan

Entering the water at Mao Reef, divers descend through boulder habitat near Al Bahr Al Ahmar to the seafloor. Scalloped hammerhead shark pass seasonally, but year-round residents like grey reef shark and silky shark maintain steady appeal. Good conditions make most dives here productive.
