Solomon Islands
Mbakui
Pavuvu, Central Province
Soft corals and gorgonian fans populate the current-exposed surfaces, and giant moray eels extend from crevices along the wall. The reef descends from a hard coral plateau at 8 metres to approximately 30 metres along a progressively steeper slope. Giant trevally and green sea turtle inhabit the reef structure, with oriental sweetlips patrolling deeper water.
