The central lagoon dives at Montebello Islands Marine Park — 120 km W of Dampier and 139 km N of Onslow, covering 58,000 ha + 250 limestone islets. Depths 5-30 m on untouched lagoons, channels, barrier reefs and fringing reefs. Home to 150+ coral species, 450+ fish species, 630+ molluscs, and seasonal humpback whales (Aug-Nov). Trimouille Island (separate site) hosts the HMAS Plym wreck from 1950s nuclear weapons tests. Liveaboard access May-September; Advanced certification.
