Mudjimba Island North

Mudjimba Island (Old Woman Island), Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia

The northern end of Mudjimba Island, also called Old Woman Island, a short boat run off the Sunshine Coast. A rocky fringing reef of coral gardens, bommies, gullies, and ledges deepens toward the outer edge. Turtles, wobbegong and leopard sharks, moray eels, nudibranchs, and reef fish are common. The northern point carries stronger current on spring tides and suits more experienced divers there.
