Napantaw Fish Sanctuary
Panaon Island, Leyte
The rock surfaces are colonized by encrusting corals, sponges, and soft corals, while the gaps between boulders funnel current and attract schools of snappers and fusiliers. Green sea turtles wedge themselves into resting spots. Giant moray eels extend from crevices, and painted frogfish sometimes perch on sponge-covered surfaces.
