Otter Cove

Monterey Peninsula, California, United States

A Pacific Grove kelp-forest cove on the ocean side of Lovers Point, reached via a stair-and-cobble entry. Kelp bass, sea otters (the site's namesake), harbor seals, and cormorants work the kelp; the bottom is a mix of sand and rocky patches to around 18 m. Best on calm mornings before swell builds.
