Palancar Reef

Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico

A 5-km reef tract along the southwest coast of Cozumel, divided into named sections: Palancar Gardens, Caves, Horseshoe, Bricks, Shallows, and Point. Depth profile 10-34 m on the main wall, with coral spires, swim-throughs, canyons, and arches encrusted in hard corals, gorgonians, and black coral. Within the Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park. Typical Cozumel drift dive with south-to-north current. Suitable for Open Water and Advanced divers depending on sub-site.
