After sunset, the reef undergoes a dramatic shift as daytime species bed down in coral crevices and nocturnal hunters emerge. Painted spiny lobsters emerge from beneath ledges, their long antennae probing ahead. The site shelters blacktip reef shark in its recesses, supports roaming giant moray eel, and draws spotted eagle ray from adjacent waters.
