Point Santa Cruz
Lighthouse Point, Santa Cruz, California, United States
The rocky kelp-forest reef off Lighthouse Point — Point Santa Cruz, the northern gateway to Monterey Bay. Shallow-to-mid depths (20–70 ft) with good visibility hold dense kelp, nudibranchs, anemones, big sunflower stars, cabezon, lingcod and halibut. Exposed to swell and current beneath the Steamer Lane surf break — an advanced shore or boat dive inside the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
