Scuba Cove is a buoyed, boat-free area at Diablo East in Amistad National Recreation Area, near Del Rio. The National Park Service set it aside for divers. Two sunken boats and a training feature sit in the cove. Limestone walls at Viewpoint Cliffs drop past 100 ft (30 m). The lake holds bass, catfish and walleye. Karst caves need cave training. Fishing line and trotlines are an entanglement risk. In 2025 the Park Service closed Scuba Cove and its walkway because the ground became unstable. The lake is at record low levels. Check the park's alerts before you plan a dive. The nearest recompression chamber is about 60 miles away.
