Sub Chaser

Rota, Northern Mariana Islands

The Sub Chaser wreck lies on a sandy slope off Rota's southeast coast, a WWII-era vessel used for anti-submarine patrol that met its end in Micronesian waters. Red lionfish wedge into coral gaps, spotted garden eel pick through rubble zones, and whitetip reef shark command the open water above.
