Tufi Wharf (Muck Dive)
Tufi Harbor, Oro Province, Papua New Guinea
The Tufi Resort wharf in Oro Province, PNG — the birthplace of the term 'muck diving.' Depths 2-10 m under the pilings with accumulated WWII-era flotsam/jetsam hosting every critter in the macro catalogue: mandarin fish (at dusk), ghost pipefish, ornate ghost pipefish, bumblebee shrimp, gobies, nudibranchs, frogfish, and seahorses. Open Water-friendly shore-entry; exceptional for macro photography. Tufi offers year-round diving (unusual for PNG mainland).
