A terraced reef drops through ledges and recesses to 17 m, with distinct coral communities at each level. Green sea turtle, blacktip reef shark, reef manta ray, whitetip reef shark, and giant trevally use the reef and adjacent waters. Day boats depart from Cairns and Port Douglas.
