Wreck Of The Yung Pen
Wellington, North Island
Since sinking, the vessel's hull and superstructure have been colonised by a dense carpet of sponges, hydroids, and encrusting bryozoans. The reef framework provides shelter at multiple depth levels for a range of species. Among the residents are leatherjacket, carpet shark tucked into ledges, and pot-bellied seahorse sweeping the deeper reaches.
