Chromodoris Annae Nudibranch

Chromodoris annae

Chromodoris annae is a strikingly beautiful sea slug found across the western Pacific from the Philippines to Indonesia and Australia. It reaches about 5 cm and displays a vivid blue body with thin black lines and a bright orange-yellow mantle border. The rhinophores and gills are orange to yellow-tipped. It feeds on sponges on coral reef walls and slopes, typically at depths of 5-30 m. This species belongs to the chromodorid family, which contains many of the most colorful nudibranchs. Its vivid color combination and relatively common occurrence in popular diving destinations make it one of the most frequently photographed nudibranch species in the tropical Pacific.
