Dasyatis hypostigma, commonly known as the groovebelly stingray, is found in shallow coastal waters off southern Brazil and potentially Uruguay and Argentina. It inhabits sandy or muddy bottoms and is notable for its distinctive W-shaped furrow on its underside.
