Lophozozymus pulchellus

Lophozozymus pulchellus is a reef-associated crustacean belonging to the family Xanthidae and order Decapoda. Divers may encounter this species in tropical regions of the Indo-Pacific, where it inhabits reef environments. It is typically found at depths ranging from 1 to 120 meters, making it accessible to both shallow and deeper dives. Regarding reproduction, members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric, meaning they have separate male and female individuals. Mating involves a precopulatory courtship ritual that relies on olfactory and tactile cues, with sperm transfer typically being indirect.
