Penaeus monodon, commonly referred to as the giant tiger prawn, is a marine crustacean belonging to the family Penaeidae. It is found in the Cold Temperate Northwest Atlantic, Northeast Australian Shelf, Sahul Shelf, South China Sea, and Tropical Northwestern Atlantic. This species is known to inhabit depths ranging from 1 to 40 meters.
