Pisidia bluteli
Pisidia bluteli is a small crustacean belonging to the family Porcellanidae, commonly found in the subtropical waters of the Mediterranean, particularly near Turkey. These creatures are benthic, meaning they live on the sea floor, often inhabiting soft-bottom environments. Divers are likely to encounter them at relatively shallow depths, as 96% of recorded sightings occur at depths shallower than 40 meters, with the majority found even shallower, at around 30 meters or less. Pisidia bluteli is harmless to humans and has not been evaluated for conservation status by the IUCN. Encounters with this species during dives can be intriguing due to their cryptic nature, often requiring a keen eye to spot them among the substrate.
