Pseudocryptochirus viridis
Pseudocryptochirus viridis is a species of crustacean belonging to the family Cryptochiridae and order Decapoda. It is primarily associated with reef environments, specifically dwelling within stony corals of the family Dendrophyllidae. These crustaceans create shallow, crescent-shaped depressions within the corals, where they reside. This habitat is typically found at depths ranging from 3 to 30 meters, primarily in the tropical waters of the Western Pacific region. Divers encountering Pseudocryptochirus viridis may notice these small crustaceans nestled within coral formations. Due to their specific habitat preferences, they are likely to be found in areas rich in stony corals. The conservation status of this species has not been evaluated, and there are no known threats to humans.
