Barracuda Point (Kakaban)

Kakaban Island, Derawan Islands, East Kalimantan, Indonesia

A drop-off on Kakaban Island famous for massive schooling barracuda tornadoes, visited by big tuna, grey reef sharks, and occasional hammerheads. Depths 10-40 m along the outer reef wall; strong current is the norm and the reason for the pelagic density. Advanced certification + drift-dive experience essential. Kakaban itself hosts the famous Jellyfish Lake interior.
