Big Drop-Off (Ngemelis Wall)
Ngemelis Island, Palau, Micronesia
A vertical wall on the west side of Ngemelis Island in Palau's Rock Islands Southern Lagoon, descending from the surface to over 285 m. Part of Palau's most-dived reef complex. Observed species include hawksbill turtles, grey reef and whitetip reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, pyramid butterflyfish, and extensive gorgonian fans and black coral on the deeper wall. Accessible to Open Water through technical divers depending on depth profile.
