Channelling

Niue

The channel walls reach 3 to 4 metres in height, their surfaces colonized by encrusting corals and sponges. Channelling takes its name from a network of narrow limestone corridors cut into Niue's western reef slope. Giant trevally and yellowstripe goatfish shelter beneath overhangs while Maori wrasse sweep through on the current.
