The Canyon

Dahab, South Sinai, Egypt

A shore-access dive a few km north of Dahab, Egypt, named for a narrow open crack in the reef that descends through the coral to the outer wall. Entry from shore with surface swim to the lagoon, descend into the canyon opening. Three main openings at 14 m (Fishbowl), 22 m (main chamber), and 52-54 m (bottom exit to open ocean). Most recreational divers turn around at the 22 m opening. Advanced Open Water certification recommended; deep training for deeper openings.
