El Fanadir North

Red Sea, Egypt

The northern tip of the El Fanadir fringing reef ~30 minutes north of Hurghada marina — a classic drift dive along a gentle sloping wall from 5 m down to 30 m. Dense gorgonian and soft coral cover on the wall face, with overhangs and small caves in the 20-25 m zone sheltering glassfish and lionfish. Large Napoleon wrasse are a near-guarantee; schooling barracuda, eagle rays, and reef sharks pass through the blue. Usually dived as a one-way drift from the north tip to the Foc marker buoy. Intermediate cert; mild to moderate current.
