Old Gulch
Lord Howe Island, New South Wales, Australia
A dramatic cove on Lord Howe's north end — a narrow chasm cut into the cliffs with a shallow cavern at the back. Depths 3-15 m through the gulch with schooling double-header wrasse, silver drummer, and the occasional galapagos shark at the mouth. Weather-sensitive (northerly swell closes it); intermediate certification.
