Southwest Pinnacle
Koh Tao, Surat Thani Province, Thailand
A cluster of granite pinnacles about 13 km southwest of Koh Tao rising from 30 m to within 6 m of the surface — one of the island's most reliable pelagic sites. Schooling barracuda, bigeye trevally, batfish, and grouper are resident; whale sharks pass through in season (March-May, Aug-Oct). Strong currents on the pinnacle tops are typical. Advanced open water recommended.
