A 654-ft US luxury ocean liner converted to troopship in WWII, sunk by a friendly-fire mine on 26 October 1942 off Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu. All 5,340 troops aboard survived. Rests on her port side with bow at 21 m, stern at 73 m. One of the largest easily accessible wrecks in the world. Mostly intact with military equipment, jeeps, guns, and original ship fittings. Multiple dives required; depths support Open Water to tech training.
