The Landslide (Wolf Island)

Wolf Island, Galápagos Islands, Ecuador

A boulder-strewn slope dive site on Wolf Island, second-northernmost island of the Galápagos Archipelago. Named for the collapsed-seabed topography (known locally as 'El Derrumbe'). Hammerhead schools — documented to hundreds of individuals — pass close along the reef edge. Depth 18-40 m. Observed species also include Galápagos sharks, whale sharks (seasonal), oceanic mantas, tuna schools, and dolphins. Liveaboard-only access; Advanced Open Water certification required.
