Alpheus novaezealandiae, or the New Zealand Snapping Shrimp, is a shrimp species from the family Alpheidae found in the Southeast Australian Shelf and various regions around Australia and New Zealand. This species can reach lengths of up to 68 millimetres and is typically dark in color.
