Fire Rock
Carmel Bay, California, United States
A boat dive off Pescadero Point at the north end of Carmel Bay, where granite boulders tumble from about 15 to 40 feet and a steep lee-side wall shelters the reef from the northwest swell — a dependable winter dive. The rocks are carpeted with strawberry anemones, cup corals, and sea cucumbers, with crabs, shrimp, and small reef fish throughout. Suits beginner and experienced divers; within the Carmel Bay State Marine Conservation Area.
