Katron's Cay Reef

Katron's Cay Reef is a south-side Guanaja site close to Katron's Cay. The cay lies a short boat ride east of the town of Bonacca. The site was a moored dive on the 1997 buoy chart. The Clearwater Paradise dive map gives a depth range from about 5 m to 18 m. The Franko Maps guide spells the cay Kiatron's Cay. Its depth range suits most certified divers. Lisa's Reef is a close neighbour on the same stretch of reef. No detailed published account of this reef exists yet. Ask your guide about the mooring and route on the day. Clark's Cay reports visibility near 30 m for most of the year around Guanaja. It can fall in the rainy season from about October to January. The same resort calls local currents mostly mild. Guanaja's fringing reef sits inside a protected marine reserve. Visitors pay a yearly fee to the island's environmental fund.
