Windmill Reef sits on the south side of Guanaja near Clark's Cay and Stuart's Cay. The 1997 mooring-buoy chart marks it as a moored site. The Clearwater Paradise dive map gives a depth range from about 6 m to 24 m. Divers from Posada del Sol were already visiting it in 1987. It shared a dive day with Silver Load and Afternoon Delight on that trip. Several current Guanaja site lists still include it. The site is reached by boat. No detailed published account of the reef layout exists yet. Ask your guide about the mooring line and the route on the day. Clark's Cay reports visibility near 30 m for most of the year around Guanaja. It can fall in the rainy season from about October to January. The same resort calls local currents mostly mild. Guanaja's fringing reef sits inside a protected marine reserve. Visitors pay a yearly fee to the island's environmental fund.
