Short Stop is a shallow reef on the south side of Guanaja. It lies in the cay-dotted stretch between Bonacca and Dunbar Rock. The Clearwater Paradise dive map numbers it among the island's south-side sites. That map gives a depth range from about 3 m to 15 m. The modest depth makes it a good choice for newer divers. It also allows long bottom times on a single tank. The Franko Maps dive guide for Dunbar Rock also marks the site. No detailed published account of the reef exists yet. Ask your guide about the route and features on the day. Clark's Cay reports visibility near 30 m for most of the year around Guanaja. It can fall in the rainy season from about October to January. The same resort calls local currents mostly mild. Guanaja's fringing reef sits inside a protected marine reserve. Visitors pay a yearly fee to the island's environmental fund.
