Taieri Reef
Otago, South Island
Deeper sections beyond fifteen metres reveal flat-topped ledges with dense sponge coverage and scattered jewel anemone colonies. Boulder fields dominate the shallower zones from five to twelve metres, draped in kelp and providing cover for spotty wrasse, leatherjackets. The reef hosts copper moki alongside trumpeter, with Hector's dolphin cruising the outer slope.
