Wellers Rock

Otago, South Island

The boulders are covered in short algae, encrusting sponges, and hydroids, providing ideal habitat for pot-bellied seahorses that grip holdfasts with their tails. Blue cod occupy crevices in the formation while scarlet wrasse and southern arrow squid move through open water.
