Motu Kapiti Island
Poor Knights Islands, Northland
The sheltered eastern side features gentle slopes with dense blue maomao schools and nudibranch-rich sponge communities. The exposed western side presents steeper terrain with stronger currents attracting yellowtail kingfish and trevally. Eagle ray glide over the substrate, John Dory tuck into recesses, and Tambja verconis nudibranch aggregate near the crest.
