Simon's Reef

Gili Meno, Lombok, Indonesia

Simon's Reef sits out in the blue between Gili Meno and Gili Air and is known for rugged, sandy-bottomed topography at 30 m with large sea mounds rising from the flats. The mounds carry giant barrel sponges, vibrant soft corals, and a coral assemblage not found on the fringing-reef sites around the islands. A deeper, more demanding dive rewarding larger pelagic passes — rays, sharks, and occasional schooling barracuda.
